Staffing firms that power their applicant tracking system (ATS) through Salesforce know that if an activity didn’t happen in Salesforce, it didn’t happen at all. That’s why we’re thrilled to offer a native Salesforce integration that enables your team to make the most of your time and efforts so you can drive more revenue and win more business.

With RefAssured on top of Salesforce, you don’t just have RefAssured’s reference checking capabilities at your fingertips, you possess the functionality and insights you need to grow your business by attracting new talent and clients. Nearly one out of five (19 percent) of reference givers opt in to talent opportunities with the staffing firm that contacted them for a reference through RefAssured. Four percent opt in as potential clients for sales consultations.
In the time since we introduced our new and improved native Salesforce integration at the end of 2024, we’ve been tirelessly adding new features and functionality. Here is everything you need to know:

Edit Reference Information to Avoid Costly Placement Bottlenecks
Any users with admin privileges can now edit reference-givers’ names, contact information, employment dates, relationship types, companies, job titles, and custom fields within the candidate profile.
While reference-giver info doesn't need to be edited often, mismatches in employment dates or typos/inaccuracies can slow down the placement process. Admin users now have the power to jump in and update information responsibly.
Search on Reference Scores to find the Right Talent for Open Roles
Search-and-match is one of the most used features in any ATS and one of the hardest to get right. It’s the first line of defense for a recruiter sourcing the right candidate or trying to create a shortlist to submit to a client.
Salesforce CRM users can now search for candidates by reference scores in addition to the many other attributions and keywords that have long been available.
To search for candidates by rating, adjust the field type to “reference score” and search for an absolute score or range, such as “4.6” or “4.3 or higher.” This is a great, efficient way to identify your top talent available for a position.
But it gets better! With the combined power of AI-powered search in Salesforce, you can easily create custom shortlists of finalists or candidates with a simple query. For instance: “show me any director of engineering who has a reference score above 4.3” or “candidates with a reference score of 4.0 or higher that worked at Google and attended UCSF.” The possibilities with reference-based searches are endless.
Safeguard Against Compliance Risk with Audit Trail
One of the biggest concerns we hear about from customers and prospects is the rapid proliferation of fraud and misrepresentation in the hiring process, not just from candidates themselves, but also when it comes to accidental mistakes or deliberate shortcuts by internal personnel. All of these factors dramatically increase risk for staffing agencies and make compliance trickier and more fraught, and RefAssured is here to help.
In addition to our industry-leading fraud detection capabilities, we are pleased to introduce Audit Trail, a new feature that acts as a comprehensive activity logging system to track all changes, communications, and system events associated with a candidate profile.
All changes are tracked in the new Audit Trail, improving transparency and saving valuable time. Key features include:
- Activity filtering (All Activities, Reference Events, Candidate Events, Request Events)
- Chronological timeline with icons and timestamps
- Notifications of profile updates, reference additions/completions, request events, fraud alerts, and more
Additionally, we’ve enhanced the user interface by adding the ability to edit CCs on any reference request directly from the Share button dropdown menu. Users have always been able to CC others when sending a request, but now they can view and update CCs at any time.
Access Invaluable Candidate Insights with "All Surveys” View
RefAssured’s mission since we started has been to be the “back of a baseball card” for candidate performance insight. That means providing comprehensive, qualitative scores on candidate soft skills, hard skills, and areas of strength and weakness that help you make the best possible hiring decisions for your clients.
With the “All Surveys” view, this is exactly what you get, a dashboard view that ties all reference ratings together – all in one place.
To view all surveys, users can select the “All Surveys” view from the “Reference History” dropdown when there is more than one request on file. This surfaces all reference surveys associated with a candidate’s pre-hire reference checks, post-hire performance evaluations, and more.
Additionally, the “All Surveys” view shows all references at the top, followed by their individual and aggregated (e.g., Highest Rated, Lowest Rated) results – the same way we do in current reports. However, if a reference was asked different questions than others (due to custom additions to cater to a specific client), we’ll still display those questions to make sure the insight is intuitive and easy to understand.
Crucially, with this new view, it’s very easy to see the “hire recommendation” column that amalgamates all the “would you recommend this person for hire?” ratings from a candidate’s references and surfaces a “yes,” “no,” or “maybe” suggestion.
No more toggling between menus and doing mental math. Get clear, actionable insight at a single glance with RefAssured’s “All Surveys” view.
Ensure High Quality Leads with Unified Opt-In View
One of our most popular and lucrative features is the ability for reference givers to express interest in partnering with your agency to fill their hiring needs or to work with you to find a new job.
Unfortunately, some of these opt-ins are what we call “double opt-ins,” meaning that a reference-giver expresses interest in looking for a new job (talent lead) and also hiring an agency (sales lead).
This can happen for a variety of reasons: a jobseeker is overly enthusiastic and just clicking buttons; they get confused; or they may not know enough about how the hiring process works. Either way, it’s not optimal.
Our new Unified Opt-In View addresses this. Now, at the end of our reference surveys, all sales and candidate messaging is consolidated into one single window for the reference giver, making their opt-in choices clearer and more visible than ever before. We’ve also updated the language we use for sales opt-ins to encourage only people with real hiring authority to click that box, if they’re so inclined. Additionally, we lead with the talent opt-in language because it ensures that our staffing customers are rightfully seen as talent-forward and focused on amassing the highest quality candidate pools. This is beneficial for customers, candidates, and your brand.
